We are currently recruiting for an Accounting Manager in the White Plains, NY area. The ideal candidate will have 5-7+ years of experience working in a large corporate accounting team and delivering monthly and quarterly financials across multiple legal entities. Compensation: 130-145K Base + 20-25% target bonus and full benefits package. 

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver accurate monthly and quarterly financial data for multiple legal entities
  • Review and continually improve insurance/reinsurance financial account balance reconciliations between ledgers and sub ledgers
  • Produce, review and continually develop quality analysis (Balance Sheet & Income Statement) of financial accounts, providing insight and analysis on the balances in order to support an accurate and reliable consolidated and legal entity financial statements
  • Oversight and review of a robust controls environment that ensures the integrity and reliability of the technical account financial data
  • Create efficiencies to meet accelerated close calendar via continuous process improvements within the Technical Accounting team
  • Liaison with internal and external auditors on control environment, audit queries and audit planning
  • Design and perform insurance/reinsurance financial account balance analytics to prove the accuracy and reliability of the underlying financial data
  • Develop and maintain robust procedures documentation
  • Coordinate with multiple teams regarding interfaces and reconciliations between general ledger and sub-ledgers for insurance and reinsurance financial accounting (i.e., premium, loss reserve, acquisition costs, etc,)
  • Participate in projects for Finance Leadership as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • CPA, CA, or ACA designation and/or public accounting experience desirable
  • Big 4 background preferred
  • 5 - 7+ years’ experience
  • Computer skills including Excel (advanced level preferred), Outlook, PowerPoint, Word 
  • Excellent technical, analytical, interpretive and evaluative skills
  • Familiarity with complex data systems and SAP General Ledger experience preferred
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge to report on US GAAP and IFRS basis of accounting
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills  
  • Experience within Financial Service or Insurance role preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain internal and external relationships 
  • Organized, highly motivated and driven self-starter with proven ability to supervise a team 
  • Knowledge and experience with FSRI/SAP a plus
