We are currently recruiting for a Financial Accounting Manager in White Plains, NY office. The Financial Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Financial Accounting processes and team members.  The Manager will also assist with ad hoc accounting projects and report into the VP Financial Accounting. 120K – 135K Base + Bonus (20-25% ) + Benefits Package

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily Financial Accounting team activities
  • Supervise, train and support the Financial Accounting team
  • Actively participate in continuous process improvements within the Global Financial Accounting Team
  • Maintain monthly/quarterly and annual Financial Accounting close task listing and manage the close process
  • Assist VP-Financial Accounting Manager with reporting and analysis within the Financial Accounting function
  • Perform goal setting and year-end staff performance assessments for assigned staff members
  • Review and approve journal entries in the General Ledger
  • Review and approve Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with analysis of realized and unrealized currency gains/losses for all Bermuda and US entities
  • Assist in the G&A allocation process, including leading the team with continuous improvements over existing structure and process
  • Review Balance Sheet and Income Statement Flux activity for Bermuda and US entities
  • Review G&A analysis for Bermuda and US entities
  • Ensure compliance with corporate-wide accounting procedures and policies within the Financial Accounting team
  • Partner with other Finance and other functional groups to resolve accounting issues as needed
  • Review quarterly and annual survey reporting and drive continuous enhancement to this reporting process
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests
  • Assist management with ad hoc projects

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting & CPA required
  • 7+ years experience managing an accounting team
  • Financial Services sector experience preferred
  • Detail oriented and strong problem solver with solid analytical abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in order to meet deadlines
  • Ability and confidence to challenge existing procedures and use of systems
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and exposure to IFRS
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting and allocation processes
  • Ability to work additional hours are required at peak periods
  • Strong knowledge of SAP General Ledger Accounting System is preferred
  • Strong and clear verbal and written communications skills
  • Advanced level Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot-tables, v-lookups and macros experience
