We are currently recruiting for a Remote Complex Claims Specialist with MPL experience (E&O and/or D&O). This is a temp/contract position approx. 3-6 months (possible temp to perm). The position can be based in multiple locations within the US. If you are located in an area where there is an office it would be hybrid (in-office 2 days | 3 days remote). If you are not located by an office it can be fully remote. Office locations Hartford, CT, NYC (Midtown), Atlanta, GA (Dunwoody / Sandy Springs area), Scottsdale, AZ, or Chicago, IL. All Claims professionals with MPL experience encouraged to apply within the US. Standard business hours Mon - Fri - 40 hour work week. $55.00 - $70.00 Hourly Rate
Responsibilities:
- Adjust and resolve moderate to complex claims that can include all phases of litigation.
- Document MPL (E&O and/or D&O) claim files with all relevant claim information, correspondence, and notes in compliance with policies and applicable regulatory authorities.
- Draft coverage letters, including reservation of rights and denial letters.
- Review and analyze claim documentation and legal filings to set timely and accurate reserves and notify the manager if upward segmentation is needed.
- Identify emerging exposures and claims trends.
- Drive litigation best practices to manage deployment and utilization of defense counsel.
- Identify suspected fraudulent claims and track with special investigations unit.
Requirements:
- Must have commercial claims experience and experience with MPL claims (Errors & Omissions / Directors & Officers Liability)
- A./B.S degree or JD from an accredited law school
- Certifications CPCU, ARMS, AINS a plus
- Advanced knowledge of claims analysis and adjusting practices
- In-depth knowledge of standards for claims documentation and legal filings
- Proven ability to actively and effectively negotiate settlement of moderate to complex claims
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
