We are currently recruiting for a Senior Financial Analyst in Stamford, CT area or Remote. The Financial Analyst will assist the Financial Reporting & Analysis team with planning and forecasting, expense management and financial reporting. Must have insurance industry experience and comfortable working with large sets of data.  This position can be Remote or Stamford, CT (currently hybrid schedule - remote & in office). 95K - 110K Base + Bonus + Benefits Package


  • Expense Planning and Forecasting, expense management & financial reporting
  • Seek opportunities for operational improvements and efficiencies
  • Collaborate with various business partners to produce and analyze an annual operating expense plan including monthly forecasts and updates
  • Support preparation of plan presentations and analyses
  • Prepare expense and intercompany reconciliations
  • Compile an analysis package for monthly review
  • Create regular re-forecast updates for expenses
  • Actively identify outstanding expenses and ensure accrual completeness
  • Assist team with procurement process & inquiries on travel expenses/invoice processing
  • Analyze expense data and act as a subject matter authority to provide additional insights
  • Perform quarterly ledger to Controller’s submission reconciliation
  • Assist with quarterly compilation of STAT financial statement movements highlighting impacts to surplus and risk-based capital
  • Support ad hoc requests and projects
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports, Board decks, Performance metrics monitoring and other reporting


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in finance/accounting role
  • Financial planning and/or reporting background
  • Excellent PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) (SQL and DAX a plus)
  • Experience in pension risk transfer (PRT) / payout annuities strongly preferred; individual life insurance/annuities acceptable
  • Knowledge of US statutory accounting required; knowledge of IFRS preferred
  • Experience with management reporting, including financial reporting metrics, and financial controls and processes
  • Knowledge of the general business and financial services environment and regulatory business requirements and their impact on business
  • Demonstrated ability to create analytics and models, identify key drivers, and communicate to different audiences
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of life insurance accounting and financial statements
  • Familiarity with actuarial concepts considered an asset
