We are currently recruiting for a Vice President of Operational Excellence in the White Plains, NY area (NYC also possible Midtown location). The ideal candidate will have 5-7+ years of experience leading lean process improvement projects while driving operational efficiencies and utilizing technology to improve margins. You will help shape the strategic transformation agenda, manages its execution, and focus on delivering 'fit for purpose' and effective operational models. 140-170K Base + Bonus + Benefits Package.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and shape a simple and intuitive customer journey for new standard commercial insurance product
  • Strive for operational excellence through continuous improvements to keep the operational model cutting edge and customer centric
  • Collaborate with multiple groups and be at the fore front of the tech developments in Company
  • Define the global operational model towards a target expense ratio target. Work towards a first product launch in North America (US) and subsequent roll-outs in other countries
  • Ensure the operational model is lean enough to continue to meet the expense targets even when rolling out in multiple countries
  • Identify improvement areas in the E2E process and driving cross-functional teams to create the impact of these improvements
  • Ensuring processes and product deliver most customer value and are cost efficient using lean/six sigma while ensuring operational compliance with local regulations
  • Provide transparency on progress by actively communicating with all involved partners across regions
  • Work closely with the Business Architect & Product Owner to ensure that customer journeys and internal processes are embedded in technology solutions
  • Work with the Process Excellence community to ensure the operating model for Standard Business leverages and aligns to other operational models, share best practices and solve common challenges

Requiremets:

  • Bachelor Degree required, Masters a Plus
  • 5-7+ years of experience leading lean process improvement projects while driving operational efficiencies and utilizing technology to improve margins.
  • Prior experience bringing a new product or service live
  • Experience in agile project management and change implementation is a must
  • Prior experience in design thinking and shown ability to re-imagine processes
  • Lean or six sigma certifications preferred
  • Operational experience in an insurance company, Fintech start-up or scale-up and have launched a proposition in the North American market a HUGE plus
  • Proven problem solver who can overcome roadblocks and use your ideas and that of the team to execute goal
  • Understand and can assess quality of complex quantitative data analysis
  • Passionate to explore new ways and challenge the status quo by continually seeking improvement opportunities and can translate ideas into clear and consistent priorities as well as an easy to understand story line
  • Can think in solutions - have a pragmatic implementation approach and hands-on problem-solving skills
  • Communicate clearly and simply – even when dealing with complicated problems and ideas – both in writing and orally
  • Experience working with stakeholders at all levels in the organization, you are empathetic and can adjust your communication style depending on the audience
  • Require some travel, not expected to exceed 30%
