We are currently recruiting for a Complex Claims Specialist (GL 3rd party property) in the Atlanta, GA area (Dunwoody / Sandy Springs area). This role is mainly remote with in-office 1-2x per month in Atlanta, GA office. 105K – 120K Base + Bonus + Benefits Package
Responsibilities:
- Adjust and resolve complex to severe claims that includes all phases of litigation for GL 3rd party Property Damage Team
- Drive litigation best practices to lead defense strategy on litigated files
- Draft complex coverage letters, including reservation of rights and denial letters
- Review and analyze claim documentation and legal filings
- Lead investigation, negotiation and utilization of alternative dispute resolution
- Identify emerging exposures and claims trends
- Identify suspected fraudulent claims and track with special investigations unit
- Document claim files with all relevant claim documentation, correspondence and notes in compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory authorities
- Mentor Claim Examiners and Associate Claim Examiners
- Develop content and conduct training for claims team and underwriters as requested
Requirements:
- 6-8+ years of claims handling experience.
- B.A./B.S degree from an accredited College or University or JD from an ABA accredited law school may be considered as a supplement to claims handling experience
- Proven ability to positively affect complex claims outcomes through investigation, negotiation and effectively leading litigation
- Advanced knowledge of coverage within Property
- Advanced knowledge of litigation process and negotiation skills
- Experience in mentoring and training other claims examiners
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Advanced analytical skills
