We are currently recruiting for a Sales / Cost Analyst in Tarrytown, NY to manage item cost calculations and related functions. This is a hybrid position in-office 3 days / remote 2 days. The Analyst will maintain source data critical in the calculation of item costing, share related information with non-Operations based stakeholders, and conduct analysis to assess impacts / identify strategies for profitability gains. The position will manage costing within our ERP as well as within supporting data streams shared with other departments and analytical tools. A key focus of this role will pertain to accurate HTS Code assignment and allocation of duty rates for comprehensive COGS roll-up. 85K – 105K Base + Bonus + Benefits Package
Responsibilities:
- Perform standard cost functions including item attributes review, HTS code identification, COO verification, and additional COGS factor valuation (ocean freight, drayage, etc.).
- Assign and maintain accurate landed cost by SKU, ensuring that tariffs and other duties are correctly allocated and reflected in the cost of goods sold.
- Partner with the procurement teams to track and analyze the financial impact of tariffs on projected procurement and on hand inventory.
- Partner with logistics teams to track and analyze the financial impact of non-tariff related cost centers and perform internal audits of material variances.
- Analyze and report on Purchase Price Variances, actual duty assessments by tariff type, and actualized spend on remaining COGS factors.
- Develop and maintain updated COGS factors for profitability assessments on proposed / future programs.
- Work closely with the sales and commercial teams to build and update pricing models that integrate tariff costs into customer pricing structures.
- Assist with annual budget preparation, standard cost updates, and forecasting related to supply chain costs and external economic factors.
- Collaborate with related teams to create sustainable SOPs in relation to data capture, data sharing, and exception management.
Requirements:
- BS in Accounting, Supply Chain, or Finance
- 3-5+ years in related role: procurement, sourcing, or accounting
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
- ERP Experience - Microsoft Dynamics a plus
- Technology & Systems – Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, especially in Excel, Power BI or similar data mining / reporting tools is a plus.
