We are recruiting for a Finance Transformation Project Manager based in Midtown Manhattan or Morristown, NJ. This hybrid role requires three days in the office and two remote days per week in NYC or Morristown, NJ office. This is a long-term contract expected to last 6 to 12+ months. Standard 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday. The role leads key finance transformation initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with the function’s target operating model and strategic vision. $60–$75 Hourly rate

Responsibilities:

  • Lead finance transformation initiatives and projects from start to finish.
  • Define and maintain project scope, plans, resources, risks, and issues.
  • Drive process optimization and technology initiatives while aligning work with target operating models and best practices.
  • Assess projects and broader programs to ensure they meet Finance team needs and support target operating plans.
  • Lead project governance meetings and reporting processes.
  • Clarify responsibilities across sponsors, stakeholders, operations, technology, and finance teams.
  • Partner closely with Operations and IT PMO teams to coordinate cross-functional projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support the Strategic Finance vision by aligning project execution with business goals.
  • Promote best practices in finance project delivery and ensure effective governance is in place throughout implementation.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations to define accurate project scope and schedules that achieve required goals.
  • Build strong relationships across Finance, IT, and business teams, and facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  • Manage one or more projects at the same time.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of project management experience, with PMP certification, and a proven ability to lead projects across business and IT functions.
  • Experience in P&C insurance or reinsurance is a plus.
  • Experience with financial processes such as accounting close, treasury, procure-to-pay, or order-to-cash is preferred; procure-to-pay transformation experience is a plus.
  • Experience with large-scale integration programs is a plus.
  • SAP experience is a plus.
  • Strong technical, analytical, interpretive, and evaluative skills.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional team discussions effectively.
  • Strong computer skills and solid knowledge of PMO tools and methodologies.
