We are currently recruiting for an Underwriter A&E (+ real estate developers & contractors) in Chicago, IL (Downtown). This role is hybrid in-office 2 days and 3 days remote. The Underwriter will place good risks, create a pipeline of business and bring expertise for wholesale brokers throughout the Midwest region. Responsibilities:
- Utilizing technical, sales and analytical skills to underwrite, price and negotiate accounts consistent with the quality of the risk and according to the strategies and guidelines for the Architects & Engineers product line
- Develop and maintain relationships with wholesale brokers providing excellent service in Midwest region
- Work with multiple teams in operations, claims, finance and marketing to help build or enhance products
- Contribute to the financial performance of the business unit exceeding quote output numbers consistently
- Identify creative solutions for partners
- Engage with National A&E team for learning and teaching opportunities
- Create new business production on small, mid-market and national sized risks
- Up to 25% travel for broker visits and industry events (Mid-West & West Coast)
Requirements:
- B.A./B.S degree preferred
- 2+ years underwriting experience in E&O, A&E, contractors real estate developers
- Strong relationships with wholesale brokers in the Midwest Region preferred
- Must have strong written and verbal skills
